The red dot you see is a notification badge. It appears whenever there is an available action on a character. For example:
- A character can be recruited
- An ability is available for upgrade
- A character can be trained to the next level
- There are gear pieces available to be crafted or equipped
- An ability is available for upgrade

- A character's Star Rank can be increased
- A character can be promoted to Red Stars
