What are Hazards in Star Trek Fleet Command?
Hazards are dangerous, system-wide environmental effects that deal damage over time (DOT) to ships within affected systems. They challenge Commanders to adapt their strategy while rewarding those who survive with valuable loot, including an exclusive G6 Combat Tree Node currency. A new Hazard system view is available to help monitor affected areas.

What happens when my ship is in a Hazard system?
While in a Hazard system, your ship will take continuous damage over time until you exit, are destroyed, or enter battle. Once a ship enters combat or leaves the system, Hazard damage stops.

What are the benefits of mining in Hazard space?
Mining in Hazard systems comes with added risks—but also greater rewards:

  • Faster resource gathering rates.

  • Exclusive raw ship parts available only in Hazard systems.

  • Higher reputation gains from activities in these systems.
If your ship is destroyed by a Hazard, you won’t lose your loot.

What types of Hazards exist?
There are three main types of Hazards and one rare variant:

  • Ion Storms

  • Radiation Fields

  • Asteroid Fields

  • Nameless Horror – a special, high-level Hazard found in specific areas.
Each Hazard type has five strength levels and applies continuous hull damage over time.

How can I resist Hazard damage?
Hazard resistance can be increased through:

  • Ship abilities

  • Research nodes

  • Refits (for Uncommon Combat Ships)

  • Consumables that boost resistance
You can view both base resistance (covers all Hazards) and type-specific resistance in your Ship Stats screen.

How can I track Hazard-related destruction?
When a ship is destroyed by a Hazard, a new “Destruction Reports” tab will appear in your Battle Log. This feature helps identify which Hazard caused your ship’s destruction.
