What is Server Ascension in Star Trek Fleet Command?
Server Ascension is the process that allows servers to progress beyond their initial level caps, unlocking access to new content, higher Operations levels, and advanced gameplay tiers such as G4, G5, G6, and eventually G7. Each server ascends at its own pace based on its economy, player progression, and overall balance, ensuring a fair and healthy experience for all Commanders.
What are the different Ascension stages?
G4 Ascension: Increases the Operations cap from 39 to 50.
G5 Ascension: Raises the cap to Operations 60.
G6 Ascension: Expands the cap to Operations 70, introducing new Sigma resources, ships, missions, and research.
G7 Ascension: Raises the cap to Operations 80, introducing late-endgame systems and mechanics.
When does a server ascend?
Ascension timing varies by server but generally follows this timeline:
G4 Ascension: Around 6 months after the server opens.
G5 Ascension: Around 1 year after opening.
G6 and G7 Ascension: Determined by each server’s maturity, economy, and readiness.
What’s new with G6 Ascension?
G6 introduces a major progression leap with 10 new Operations Levels (up to 70) and several new gameplay systems:
New Grade 6 (G6) Ships and 6 new Faction Ranks that unlock access to 13 powerful new vessels.
Gold Refits available in the Faction Store to enhance G6 ships.
New Sigma Resources (Σ-Parsteel, Σ-Tritanium, Σ-Dilithium):
Generated from level 61+ stations.
Refined from raw versions mined by G6 Survey Ships.
Obtained via Station Raiding (after base resources are depleted).
A new resource filter allows switching between Sigma and standard resources.
Σ resources can be converted to basic resources and vice versa.
New Hazard Daily Goals and Events with improved rewards.
275+ new Missions, 120 new Systems, and 68 new Combat Research nodes.
New Officers: Picard (Epic) and Data (Rare), offering innovative PvE crew setups.
How do I ascend to G4?
To ascend to G4, you must obtain an Ascension Key, earned through a weekly event held every Friday:
Destroy an Epic Federation, Romulan, or Klingon Armada using a G3 Epic ship (Enterprise, Augur, or D4) or the ISS Jellyfish (Shipyard 39).
You only need to participate, not lead, to earn the key.
This event continues until you reach Operations Level 40. Once you’ve earned the Ascension Key, you only need it once to unlock G4 progression.
How do I ascend to G5?
When your server becomes eligible for G5, you’ll receive a gift in your Gift Section. Claiming it unlocks access to G5 space, allowing progression up to Operations Level 60.
How do I ascend to G6?
When your server is ready to progress into G6, new content and systems will become available automatically through an update and in-game notifications. Players can then build G6 ships, mine Sigma resources, and participate in Hazard Dailies and Events to advance through Ops 61–70.
When will my server ascend to G7?
The exact timing for G7 Ascension varies by server. Scopely continuously monitors player progress, economy, and engagement to determine when each server is ready. Announcements will be made in-game and through official communication channels before your server ascends.
Why don’t all servers ascend at the same time?
Servers evolve differently depending on economic health, player activity, and balance. Ascending all servers simultaneously could cause imbalance and progression issues. Staggered ascensions ensure smoother pacing and a fairer experience for everyone.
How can I prepare for future ascensions?
To get ready for G6 or G7:
Upgrade your ships, buildings, and research to strengthen your power base.
Coordinate with your alliance to complete Armadas and key events.
Save critical resources and currencies for new content when it becomes available.
Why can’t I participate in Upgrade Operations Building events?
Some events, such as the Upgrade Operations Building event for Ops 70 or 80, are exclusive to servers that have already ascended to G6 or G7. Servers that haven’t reached those stages yet will not have access to those events but will continue to receive progression-appropriate content and rewards.
