What is the USS Cerritos, who can build it, and how can it be obtained?

The USS Cerritos is a support ship available to commanders level 36 and above. Its unique ability, Support, can target your own ships, alliance members, or even other players. Starting in May, commanders level 35+ can also unlock the Cerritos by completing the recurring California Class event every Wednesday. Completing this event 10 times (10 weeks) rewards enough blueprints to build the Cerritos. Once completed, the event no longer appears.

How does the Support ability work?

Support can be used on any ship in the same system as your USS Cerritos. Select the Cerritos from the fleet bar, then either click the Support button directly or select a ship in the galaxy viewer and click Support. Activating the ability costs Irvinite, which can be obtained daily from the Support refinery and from the Second Contact event every Wednesday.

What are the benefits of the Support ability?

Support gives the target ship a base increase to damage for a limited time. Additional benefits can be unlocked by completing Cerritos research nodes in the Starships research tree. Important: the benefits are determined by the target player’s research, not the research of the Cerritos owner.

How can Culver Particles and Cerritos components be earned?

Culver Particles are primarily gained from the Cerritos Refinery, which is available to players who own a USS Cerritos. The refinery can also drop Cerritos Components and Lower Decks officer shards. Tokens for this refinery are earned through the Second Contact event on Wednesdays.

What events are linked to the Cerritos?

Players who own a Cerritos can participate in the weekly Second Contact event every Wednesday. Players with a tier 5 or higher Cerritos can join Second Contact Elite, a rotating weekly event. Those with a tier 12 Cerritos who complete Second Contact Elite also earn Rare Culver Particles, which are needed for elite research nodes that enhance the Support ability.
